Concrete Pumps – Types and Usage

There are a number of types of concrete pump, each with its own unique advantages for moving large amounts of concrete to its point of application. In this post  we will explore the different types of concrete pumps and their uses.

Boom Pump

A boom pump is a type of concrete pump that is mounted on a truck or trailer.

The boom pump has a long arm (called a boom) that can reach over obstacles, pour concrete into hard-to-reach places and is very versatile so can be used for a variety of applications.

Without them, it would be difficult or impossible to pour concrete into the upper floors of a tall building or to build bridges and other structures that require concrete support; boom pumps have made it possible to build some of the tallest buildings in the world.

Stationary Pump

A stationary pump is a type of concrete pump that is not mounted on a truck or trailer.

Stationary pumps are often used for large construction projects, such as high-rise buildings and are very powerful so they can pump concrete to great heights.

Stationary pumps are often used in industrial and commercial settings, as they are capable of moving large volumes of fluid or gas.

Some common applications for stationary pumps include transferring oil and gas, pumping water, and moving chemicals.

Specialised Usage Pump

A specialised usage pump is a type of concrete pump that is designed for a specific purpose.

Specialised usage pumps can be used for difficult applications, such as pumping concrete up a hill or over a long distance. Specialised usage pumps are often custom-made for the specific project they will be used for.

These pumps may be required to meet specific performance standards set by the government or other entities. Additionally, some specialised usage pumps may be used in hazardous environments where other types of pumps would not be able to function properly.

Concrete Line Pumps

A concrete line pump is a type of concrete pump that is used to pump concrete over long distances.

Concrete line pumps are often used for projects that require concrete to be pumped a long distance, such as pipelines.

These pumps are very powerful and can pump concrete to great heights and are one of the most versatile and dependable pieces of equipment in the construction industry.

They can be used to pump concrete, grout, mortar, slurry, and other viscous materials over long distances and through small openings, concrete line pumps are available in a variety of sizes and configurations to meet the needs of any construction project.
